Community Engagement Advisory Group
Principle from the Community Strategy
- Whatever we do we do so in a way that engages with and reflects the needs of local communities
Delivering the Community Strategy will depend on the effective engagement of citizens, visitors and other key stakeholders in the District in the way services and programmes are planned and delivered.
Workable local solutions depend on local knowledge so it is important that this knowledge influences decisions affecting local communities.
The voluntary and community sector is extremely valuable in building the capacity of local communities enabling effective engagement, providing learning opportunities and having a key role to play in regeneration.
Through engagement we will seek to:
- provide information and opportunities for citizens to be better informed, information that is in accessible an easy to understand formats.
- enable local people to identify what they want for their community.
- encourage involvement in the democratic process.
- plan and provide suitable local services tailored to the needs of the community.
- gather information about the performance of the strategy.
