Nov 2007 - Drinkhead campaign wins awards

Wakefield District Community Safety Partnership's highly successful, 'Drinkheads - think more, drink less campaign' has won more prestigious national awards.

Last month the campaign won four Fresh Creative Awards, including a Gold Award for Outdoor Campaign, and three Silver Awards for Outdoor Poster, Use of Photography and Art Direction.

Added to the Rose Awards won earlier in the year this means that in the last few months Drinkheads has received seven national awards.

The campaign raised awareness of issues around binge drinking and the consequences of excessive alcohol consumption, focusing on violent crime, accidental fires and underage drinking.

This is a tremendous achievement for the campaign which has not only attracted national recognition but is being championed by Government Office as a model of good practise.

The Fresh Awards take place every year and celebrate advertising and marketing excellence throughout the country.

The new phase of the campaign is currently in development, focusing on the impact of alcohol on violent crime, anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse and child protection issues.

The new phase will be launched in December in time for Christmas.
