As part of the programme of Wakefield Speaks events taking place across the district to inform service delivery.  Student Council members from Minsthorpe Community College worked with members of Wakefield Council and other partners to deliver a student speaks event.

The event was held on 21 November and was a huge success with around 100 young people attending from across the district.  The day was led by the students from Minsthorpe College and compere was Ian Clayton.  Guest speakers included Peter Box, Chair of the WDP and Leader of Wakefield Council, Margaret Wood, ICW (UK) Ltd, Jane Walton, Make Your Mark Campaign Wakefield and Steve Stewart, Corporate Director Culture, Wakefield Council.  There was also a special appearance from Momentum Dance Company.

The students who developed and delivered the event have been invited to attend the meeting of the WDP in January 2008 to inform board members of their findings.
